Concrete cases in which valuable information was obtained based on the right to access information. The presenters come from countries in which this law exists and others in which it does not. They will explain how they requested the information and how important it was to the investigation. In the most representative case, Mexico, a commissioner for the government surveillance entity will make a special presentation.

The confiscation at the Buenos Aires airport of 800, 000 dollars arriving from Venezuela and allegedly destined to finance Cristina Kirchner’s campaign, produced journalistic investigations in three countries. Also, events that were linked to the FARC’s activities forced the press to carry out investigations in several of the region’s countries. The results of these investigations are analyzed by this panel.
